    Bannerman’s Island Castle warehouse burns down 1969

    • 1900 Francis Bannerman purchased Pollepel Island
      - 6.5-acre island in the Hudson River
      - 50 miles north of New York City
    • 1967  the family sold Bannerman island to New York State
      - surplus warehouse was abandoned
    • 1969 Bannerman’s Island Castle warehouse burns down
    • Today the Bannerman Castle Trust preserves the castle & island
