    – 50 miles north of New York City
  • 1967  the family sold Bannerman island to New York State
    – surplus warehouse was abandoned
  • 1969 Bannerman’s Island Castle warehouse burns down
  • Today the Bannerman Castle Trust preserves the castle & island
